I am grateful for this summit for the possibility of the light and frequency that may set us on fire. Light the fuse that remembers possibilities of evolutionary ways . . . to expand the current with a wake up call to our collective wisdom. It is important this slowing down to listen to our nervous systems, to repair our nervous systems to be able to dive deeper within that which has been forgotten or never known.

Our Sounds, Our Music creates community, creates the memory of possibilities, we dream together, we join together in music.

My vision and prayer and intention is that the power of sound and music will open our hearts – open our minds, break down the barriers and dissolve the amnesia that seems to have clogged our senses. I know I am from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, 70’s. the Wobblies, civil rights, women’s music . . . music that we still listen to and perform, because it was communication with messages. Where would we be without those messages?

I am excited to see what folks are going to create with this time of deeply being moved and forever changes and rearranged. I am an old revolutionary evolutionist. But I have been aching for the music that woke us together, connected us through the miles the freedom songs, the mercy songs, the dreams songs, the what’s wrong songs, the how to get it right songs, the we are one songs, the teachers of how we can come together songs.

The day of my interview life was still quite regular and ‘normal’ In the out of the way area that I live, and within a few days, nearly overnight it seemed, we were stopped and in terror and all was changed. I know my interview would have been different. I was living in the sweet lull before the viral storm.

Someone pointed out recently that this may be the first time in human history that all of us—around the whole world—are equally unsure about the future. There is a heavy reality setting in, that no one really knows.

As fear spreads, systems falter and uncertainty takes up residence in our daily lives, we’re facing a choice to resist The Unknown or embrace it.

What does embracing the unknown look like? It’s about learning how to be fully okay with the chaos and uncertainty. So much so that you’re not bound by it but free to move forward.
